Your receiver can pick up the money as cash at a Western Union agent location. In certain countries, money can be deposited in a bank account or received in a mobile wallet.

Transaction Limits
Send up to 4000 kr per transaction for your first and second money transfers, and up to 35000 kr per transaction after you've gone through the identification process.

Send money to a bank account

Sending money directly to your receiver is easier than ever when you transfer money to a bank account. Western Union makes the process quick and convenient.1, 2

  1. Log in to your profile. If you don’t have a profile, please register for free.
  2. Start a transaction, enter destination and amount, and choose delivery "to a bank account".
  3. Enter your receiver’s bank account information. Learn more about what’s required.
  4. Choose your payment method (via card3 or bank transfer). 
  5. You'll get a confirmation by email with the tracking number (MTCN).
  6. The money will be deposited into your receiver’s bank account. Check out destination-specific timing.

Send money to a mobile phone

If your receiver lives in a country where we offer this service, you can send money to their mobile phone—so they can get their money even more quickly and easily.1 Make sure your receiver has activated a mobile wallet2 with one of our partner mobile operators in their country.

  1. Check available destination countries and mobile providers.
  2. Log in to your profile. If you don't have a profile, please register for free.
  3. Start a transaction, enter destination and amount, and choose delivery "to a mobile phone".
  4. Enter your receiver's name and mobile number.1
  5. Pay with your credit card or debit card.3 
  6. You and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via SMS4 notification when the money's delivered.
